An honest assessment from the Dutchman
Frenkie de Jong is pretty honest when it comes to assessing his own performances and he’s been at it again on international duty with the Netherlands.
The midfielder spoke about his display in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla at the Camp Nou last time out and made it clear he was not at his best.
“I didn’t play at the top level against Sevilla,” he said.
“I was only mediocre. How is my form? We’ll see, but I feel good.”

Manager Ronald Koeman was openly critical of De Jong against Sevilla, saying the midfielder “lost too many balls” in the clash with Julen Lopetegui’s side.
De Jong is back in action later today when his team face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Nations League, a match which will see him come up against new team-mate Miralem Pjanic.
