The midfielder is looking forward to the visit of Real Madrid
Miralem Pjanic is looking forward to his first ever Clasico with Barcelona and is hoping he will feature for Ronald Koeman’s side against Real Madrid.
The midfielder made his first start for Barca against Ferencvaros in midweek, but it’s not clear yet if he will keep his place in the starting XI.
It seems more likely he may have to make do with a place on the bench, but Pjanic admits he’s eager to get a taste of one the biggest games on the planet.
“The Clásico is special but I have already played a Roma-Lazio, who are great rivals. Also Juve-Inter, the derby in Italy. I have played great derbies in great matches, I want to know what it is to play a Clásico, I’m curious.
“Having the opportunity to play a Clasico is what every player dreams of. It is the biggest game in football. I am happy to be here, to be able to play, and I hope we can win,
“We have a good team and we know how to play. We have been able to rest after the Champions League game, we have prepared ourselves, and I think the team should be ready. We are looking forward to playing this Clasico, which is special, and we have to win.”

Ronald Koeman’s teamsheet will make for interesting reading ahead of the game. It’s expected he will bring Sergio Busquets back into the team, after giving him a breather in midweek, to partner Frenkie de Jong in midfield.
