Ter Stegen’s new deal has been in the works for a while but is finally signed, sealed and delivered. The Germany international has signed on until 2025 and has a new buyout clause set at €500 million.
Center-backs Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique have also been renewed. Lenglet’s deal has been extended until 2026, with a buyout clause of €300m, while Pique’s contract now runs until 2024.
However, Barca also confirmed that Pique’s renewal “is subject to the player making a certain number of appearances from the 2021-22 season.”
Finally, Frenkie de Jong also has a brand new contract despite only arriving at the club from Ajax in the summer of 2019. The Dutchman has extended until 2026 and it will now cost €400m to take him away from the Camp Nou.
