The award is handed over by the European Sports Media, of which MARCA is a part of, and Messi receiving the Golden Boot will take his overall tally to five, one ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona are optimistic Nelson Semedo’s injury is not to serious and, according to Diario AS, the Portuguese full-back could be ready for the Celta Vigo game on Saturday. Tests at the club’s training ground on Monday have ruled out a serious injury to Semedo’s knee and he’s likely to return to training this week.
