It’s another busy day in the land of transfer talk
Barca will sell Rafinha for €30m
Liverpool, Juventus and Roma are all reportedly queuing up to sign Rafinha this summer and although his father insists he wants to stay at the club, Barca may have very different ideas.
Indeed Marca report the club will happily sell him if any club stumps up €30m for the Brazilian with Barca keen to cash in and raise funds for new signings.
Messi tells Valverde to keep Alba
You may have noticed Jordi Alba has already been quick to say nice things about Ernesto Valverde and while that may not be enough to sway the new boss, a few words in his ear from Messi might.
Don Balon claims the Argentine wants Alba to stay and will tell Valverde that the club simply cannot afford to let Alba go this summer.
Herrera happy at Man Utd
Ander Herrera has been linked with a move to Barca to link up with Valverde but the Manchester United man has played down talk of a switch insisting he is happy at Old Trafford.
The midfielder has told The Independent that he is grateful for the Red Devils for signing him and has reiterated his commitment to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Barca priced out of Semedo deal & back in for Bellerin
Yesterday it was Nelson Semedo but today it seems Hector Bellerin is Barcelona’s favourite right-back, according to the folk at Marca.
It seems that Benfica have slapped a €55m price tag on Semedo that has, rather unsurprisingly, put Barca off somewhat.
Bellerin could be available for slightly less, at a mere €50m, although Barca could also sweeten the deal by including Arda Turan – although they’d much rather flog him for mega-bucks to China apparently.
One more season for Mascherano
Valverde is busy making decisions about which players to keep and is keen to keep hold of Javier Mascherano, write the always wonderful Don Balon.
The new boss thinks the Argentine has plenty left to give and wants him to stay for at least another season – a decision that has the full blessing of Lionel Messi.
Sergi Roberto back in midfield
Sergi Roberto can forget about playing full-back next season with Valverde set to use the 25-year-old in central midfield, well that’s the latest from Mundo Deportivo.
Bellerin, Semedo and Aleix Vidal are all in his thoughts for the problem right-back spot for next season with Roberto, very much set to return to a midfield role.
