According to the report, the club is looking to sign the player as soon as possible, and an announcement could be due in the next few hours.
The winger has been in demand ever since his exploits in Italy with AC Milan. While the player initially wished to stay at the San Siro, a move looked unlikely with Barça reigniting their interest in the Spaniard.
Deulofeu was shipped out to Everton on loan in 2013 making 25 appearances. He followed his stint in England with another loan to Sevilla in 2014 where he saw reduced playing time under Unai Emery on the grounds of his poor attitude. With Luis Enrique not impressed, the player was swiftly moved along to Everton on a permanent transfer in 2015 where he looked to link up with former Blaugrana legend Ronald Koeman. The Dutchman, however, grew impatient with the winger and shipped him off on another loan to AC Milan last January; it was here that he truly stood out.
In a team full of upcoming stars, Deulofeu managed to do enough to garner attention from Europe and with his stock rising, Barcelona seems to have promptly returned to cash in.
The club has been linked to a number of wingers this summer with names like Riyadh Mahrez and Ousmane Dembele constantly in the news. However, the club appears to have dropped any interest in the duo with Deulofeu now primed for a return.
Deulofeu’s buy-back clause expires on 30 June 2017.
