Jordi Mboula explains why he left Barcelona for Monaco

The youngster has signed a five-year deal with the French champions

Jordi Mboula's move from Barcelona to Monaco has finally been confirmed with the highly-rated youngster signing a five-year deal with Leonardo Jardim's side.

The move is a blow for the Blaugrana, with yet another talented and highly promising youngster leaving the club for just €3 million.

Reports also claim that Barcelona do not have an option to buy him back in the future.

Mboula took to Twitter to explain his decision to quit Camp Nou and move to the French champions.

"In life, there are moments when we have to make decisions and after a thinking about things very deeply, I decided I have to accept this new challenge," Mboula wrote on Twitter.

"I feel ready and motivated to be able to perform as a player at one of Europe's biggest clubs.

"I want to thank everyone at Barcelona that's helped and supported me throughout the last eight seasons, I feel very proud to have defended the club's shirt."

Mboula starred in the UEFA Youth League last season and had been expected to feature prominently for Barcelona B next season.

However, it seems the lure of playing first-team football at Monaco was too much - a sign of things to come for Barcelona?
