The midfielder is a wanted man...apparently
The future of Andre Gomes is back on the agenda today with AS claiming that Manchester United and Juventus are both interested in signing the midfielder.
As we all know, it was a difficult first season for Gomes at Camp Nou, but there were signs towards the end of the campaign that he could well have a future at the club.
The midfielder tends to split opinion between supporters, but it seems he has done enough on the pitch to tempt both United and Juve.
And the latest report suggests Barcelona could well be tempted to cash in on the Portugal international, should they receive a good enough offer.
AS claim Jose Mourinho wants to bring Gomes to Old Trafford with the club looking to spend big again this summer, having already signed Victor Lindelof and being heavily linked with Alvaro Morata.
Of course Mourinho and Gomes share the same agent, Jorge Mendes, which could also help sweeten the deal.
But wait, they also apparently face competition from Juventus, who also want the 23-year-old after reportedly missing out on him last summer.
And what of Barca? Well AS speculate that while he is in Ernesto Valverde’s plans for now, that could rapidly change if they receive a bid that would allow them to recoup the €35m they splashed out on him last summer.
Gomes is currently with the Portugal squad in Russia for the Confederations Cup, so it’s unlikely anything will happen until after the tournament.
Should Barca try to keep hold of Gomes? Or should they sell if a good offer comes in - let us know your thoughts!
