The Barca defender is off the mark for les Bleus
Samuel Umtiti opened his international account in Paris on Tuesday evening, scoring his first ever goal for France in a friendly against England at the Stade de France.
The Barcelona defender equalised from close range after goalkeeper Tom Heaton had parried Olivier Giroud’s shot to make it 1-1 after 22 minutes, Harry Kane had earlier opened the scoring for the Three Lions.
Umtiti was one of six changes made by France coach Didier Deschamps for the match, with the Barca defender partnering Raphael Varane in central defence.
