Barcelona back in for Mahrez?
Riyad Mahrez was one of the hottest properties in Europe last summer after an inspirational season but he’s turned decidedly lukewarm after a difficult campaign.
However, that’s not enough to put off Barcelona who are ready to reignite their interest in the Algerian who is now ready to leave the King Power, so say Sport.
Mahrez has apparently acquired a taste for Champions League football after helping Leicester to the quarter-finals which is giving Barca plenty of food for thought.
Mascherano heading to China
One man who may be about to wave goodbye to the Champions League is Javier Mascherano who is set to dump Barca for the riches of the Chinese Super League, according to everyone’s favourite Don Balon.
The Argentine has already decided his time at Camp Nou is up, as proved by his penalty against Osasuna apparently, but is not quite ready to return to River Plate just yet.
Instead he may just accept one of the several offers he’s had from China and enjoy a lucrative season or two rolling in cash before returning to his homeland.
Theo Hernandez wants Barca over Real Madrid
Barcelona are closing in on a deal for Theo Hernandez and the left-back favours a move to Camp Nou over Real Madrid, as he will get more playing time, claim Sport.
Madrid have apparently made it crystal clear that Theo will be back-up to Marcelo and may have to get used to life on los Blancos’ star-studded bench.
Meanwhile, Robert Fernandez has spoken to the player and made it clear that if he opts to move to Barcelona instead, he will see plenty of minutes on the pitch.
Cucurella & Mboula to leave Barca?
Another day, another Marc Cucurella rumour and today’s involves the youngster leaving Barcelona and heading to Manchester City to link up with that man Pep Guardiola.
Marca report Cucurella is still to agree a extension with Barcelona with his current deal set to expire at the end of next month with Manchester City believed to be watching developments closely.
Another youngster who could be about to slip away is Jordi Mboula. Although he has a year left on his current deal Benfica and Monaco are both contemplating pouncing on the teenager who has been scoring some fairly stunning goals this season.
