HUGE VICTORY!!!
Barcelona remain alive in the race for the La Liga title thanks to a great 4-1 win against Villarreal at Camp Nou on Saturday. The Blaugrana needed to be patient and efficient to break down a very good defense, and they found the goals in key moments to sink the Yellow Submarine and get three huge points.

FIRST HALF
The game was as tough as advertised for Barça, who had a lot of trouble trying to find spaces inside a very organized Villarreal defense, and the Yellow Submarine were also dangerous on the counter, which meant the hosts needed to be patient and precise to score and avoid conceding.
After 20 minutes of frustrating offensive trips, the Blaugrana got a somewhat lucky goal when Lionel Messi had a shot deflected which fell to Neymar, who was alone in front of goal and couldn't miss. Villarreal went forward looking for the equalizer, and they got it when a simple pass out of the back found Cedric Bakambu on the run, and the striker beat Gerard Piqué for pace and scored for the visitors.
What looked like a frustrating draw at halftime became once again a victory when Messi made a beautiful run through the defense and saw his deflected shot beat the goalkeeper and put Barça ahead.
At halftime, a hard-fought 2-1 lead for Barça promised a tough final period.
SECOND HALF
The final period was dominated by Barça, who had possession and avoided conceding chances to the visitors, who had one good opportunity with a free-kick by Jonathan dos Santos. The Blaugrana still had problems creating chances and wasted good actions with poor passes, until Luis Suárez scored a very good goal to double Barça's lead.
The two-goal cushion calmed everything down for the Catalans and Barça simply ran the clock out to confirm the victory, but Messi is Messi and still added a fourth goal for the home team with a Panenka penalty.
So it's a 4-1 score, three points, and a big victory against a very good team. Well done.
