Report: Paco Alcácer set to replace Messi in Barcelona debut this weekend

No pressure!

The latest Barcelona signing is set to make his debut, and he's likely to do it as a starter. In place of the world's best footballer.

According to reports in Catalonia, Paco Alcácer will play his first match for Barcelona against Alavés this Saturday, and the former Valencia striker will replace Lionel Messi in the starting lineup. Messi has a groin/hamstring problem and is likely to be rested by Luis Enrique ahead of the Champions League opener against Celtic next Tuesday, opening the door for Alcácer to make his debut at Camp Nou.

Alcácer was signed last week in the latest of fantastic business done by the Blaugrana in the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old is fast, skilled and versatile enough to play in any of the three attacking positions. There is a chance that Arda Turan starts on the right side with Neymar returning on the left, but the Brazilian can also be rested for the Celtic game, with Arda, Paco and Luis Suárez forming the attacking trio.

If Alcácer is indeed Messi's replacement, well... no pressure, then.
