A new report from Diario Sport says Vidal could be on his way out and Barcelona want Bellerín
Aleix Vidal was left out of the squad for Barcelona's win over Leganés, despite Luis Enrique giving Sergi Roberto a rest. That means Lucho preferred changing his entire system and going 3-4-3 than giving Vidal another chance.
Vidal's form suffered from having to sit out the first half of last season due to the registration ban. He never seemed to truly adapt and was being regularly left out of the squad by Luis Enrique. Over the summer, with Dani Alves leaving, Lucho could have offloaded Vidal and brought in someone else. Instead, he opted to give the Catalan one more chance.
But given his poor performance against Deportivo Alavés, Vidal has not inspired confidence. Clearly, Luis Enrique's patience is running out. Vidal has speed to spare but he's been too imprecise and lacked commitment defensively.
Diario Sport now says Lucho and Barcelona's sporting director, Robert Fernández, are keen on moving Vidal on if he does not improve quickly, and the result could be a loan during the winter transfer window.
Their #1 choice for a replacement is Arsenal's Héctor Bellerín, a La Masia product. Bellerín is another speed demon, but he is more proven as a right-back.
Again according to Sport, Robert and Lucho have been following Bellerín for a while but it's only now that they are serious about making a move, and they're ready to make it soon.
The biggest question however, is how much money Barcelona would have to shell out for an important player for Arsenal. Bellerín is due a renewal... is he just using Barcelona's interest to get a sweeter deal?
Or is this for real?
