Barcelona have taken a 1-0 lead over Leganes in their La Liga match. Lionel Messi scored his seventh goal in all competitions just at the 15 minute mark to get the Blaugrana off and running on the road in this very early kickoff.
Luis Suarez did the hard work down the right flank. Messi found him with a brilliant one-touch pass into arces of space. The Uruguayan touched it around a defender and created essentially a 3 on 1 chance. He slotted a perfectly delicate pass into the path of Messi and the Argentine superstar slid in a rather easy finish past a helpless Leganes goalkeeper.
It’s a much better beginning to the match than their last league match in which they were shocked by Alaves. Hopefully they can hold on away from home and keep the momentum going and gain the three points in a tricky fixture. It would certainly make up for last week’s misstep.
