Yeah, this is not just a rumor anymore...
The Héctor Bellerín rumor is no longer just a rumor. It's starting to become a real thing in Barcelona now.
After a new report came out saying that Bellerín was a top priority for the Blaugrana if full-back Aleix Vidal decides to leave in January, Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre spoke in an interview to Diario Sport about the former Barça full-back and current Arsenal young star, and whether or not the club would be interested in re-signing the Spaniard in the near future.
Mestre's answer?
“We’ve already seen him as a Culé! He’s a great player, there’s no doubt about that. Arsene Wenger convinced him to move and promised him something which we couldn’t. We could not promise him that within two years he would be playing in Dani Alves’ place.
“In many cases it’s good that they leave to develop as players and then return [with that experience]. Look at the cases of Cesc [Fabregas], [Gerard] Piqué, [Jordi] Alba and Denis Suarez… I hope the same thing will happen with [Sergi] Samper, too.
“It’s positive that [these players] get minutes at other clubs. It is dynamic which has always provided good results for players that carry the Barca DNA in their blood.”
I'm sorry, but it sounds an awful lot like Jordi Mestre wants to sign Bellerín. Or I'm just crazy. I don't know.
