Coach Luis Enrique has selected 18 players to form the squad that will take on Elche this Saturday
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, the squad list for the next Barcelona match is already out, as coach Luis Enrique has already named the lineup for the game against Elche, on Saturday.
It's an expected list after Munir El-Haddadi was sent back to Barça B. From now on, only senior team players will be named for La Liga and Champions League matches. The time for experiments is over; we're in January and that's when things get serious, so Munir can work his way up at Mini Barça until he becomes a no-brainer for the first team.
There are five absentees for tomorrow's game. Thomas Vermaelen, Douglas Pereira and Jérémy Mathieu are out due to injury. The other two, Jordi Masip and Ivan Rakitic, will not travel per Enrique's decision.
These are the eighteen men picked by Lucho to be in uniform on Saturday:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Claudio Bravo
Defenders 2. Martín Montoya, 3. Gerard Piqué, 14. Javier Mascherano, 15. Marc Bartra, 18. Jordi Alba, 21. Adriano, 22. Dani Alves
Midfielders: 5. Sergio Busquets, 6. Xavi Hernández, 8. Andrés Iniesta, 12. Rafinha Alcântara, 20. Sergi Roberto
Forwards: 7. Pedro Rodríguez, 9. Luis Suárez, 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Neymar Jr.
Expected Starting Lineup (4-3-3):
Bravo; Alves, Piqué, Bartra, Alba; Mascherano, Xavi, Rafinha; Messi, Suárez, Pedro
