Bayern Munich Executive: "We will never sign Messi because Barcelona will never sell"

#TheCrisis is all over by now, and the rumors surrounding Lionel Messi's departure from Barcelona have slowed down as the end of the January transfer window rapidly approaches. Thankfully the silly talks of Messi wanting to leave his only team are part of the past, at least until the next Barça loss.

Amongst the sea of speculations of a possible destination for Leo, one of the often mentioned landing spots was Bayern Munich, and there's a solid number of reasons for that. Bayern is one of the most successful clubs today, and they have enough money to buy every single player on the planet, including Messi. Plus, their current coach is Pep Guardiola, one of Leo's closest friends, and the architect of possibly the greatest team in history, the 2008-11 Barça that destroyed the world of football and became a simbol of titles and sporting beauty.

However, it is clear by this point (if it wasn't before) that Leo is not leaving Barça, and even if Bayern has the resources to acquire the best player in the world, they won't be able to accomplish such incredible feat. And the club's general manager, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, gave a very good reason why he can't lure Messi into coming to Germany.

"Messi and Barcelona are like a lifelong marriage. They'll never break up, no matter how many problems they face in the relationship. It's the same thing as Phillip Lahm and Bayern. I know Barça's executives well enough to know they'll never consider selling him. He has a €250 million release clause. He has to stay at Barça forever."

That's a nice response. Sometimes we tend to believe the rumors, especially when things aren't going as well. But Messi and Barça are married for life, and we can all be happy with it.
