Coach Luis Enrique has selected 18 players for the clash with Atlético Madrid on Sunday
The next Barcelona match is finally upon us, as the Blaugrana host Atlético Madrid in an all-important clash with title implications. It could be the last game under Luis Enrique as a manager, so he made sure he selected the best available squad.
And he did it. But there's one absentee: Xavi Hernández will miss his second straight match due to a right leg injury he picked up on Thursday morning, right before the game against Elche. Although the issue is not serious, three days of rest and rehab weren't enough to get Xavi ready for tonight's game, so he'll watch it from the stands.
Jérémy Mathieu is also out of the squad list. He has been given the medical green light, but he's not part of the 18-man lineup and will miss the game as well. Per Enrique's decision, Martín Montoya, Jordi Masip and Douglas will not play tonight.
