Pochettino wants Messi at PSG
Today’s rumors start with news from France that Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain when he takes over from Thomas Tuchel.
PSG announced before Christmas that Tuchel had been sacked with Pochettino now the red-hot favorite to scoop the job at the Parc des Princes.
According to Le Parisien, the new boss could try and bring Messi with him to the French capital to play alongside friends such as Neymar, Rafinha and Angel di Maria.
Riqui Puig to Betis?
Over at Estadio Deportivo there’s an update on Riqui Puig’s future. The youngster is also facing an uncertain future at Barca and is out of contract at the end of the season.
The latest update suggests Barca want to activate an option in his contract to extend his deal for another two years but also find a club where he can play regularly.
Real Betis are, predictably, an option and have already asked about a loan. Manchester City are also mentioned but would rather bring him in permanently rather than on loan.
Eric Garcia deal done
And the final rumor today concerns Eric Garcia. According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal to bring the center-back to Barcelona is (pretty much) all signed, sealed and delivered.
Barca are 100 per confident Garcia will leave Manchester City and head home to sign a five-year deal at the Camp Nou.
It’s not clear yet when the deal will be announced but it’s certain that Garcia will be back either in January or when his contract expires at the end of the season.
