Aliaxsandr Hleb
Hleb never played much for Barcelona despite costing a decent amount of money, and he went on to play for random clubs. A total, total miss.
Cesc Fabregas
Perhaps the most controversial of the list, Cesc got on well with his teammates and played a lot under Pep Guardiola, Tito Vilanova, and Tata Martino. However, he never really found his best position and his time in the team is sandwiched by CL wins he was not a part of.
Alex Song
Just the typical Arsenal to Barcelona signing here. Song was bought after arguably his best season, for a decent amount of money. but again, never really found his place in the team. His performances left a lot to be desired, and he was unceremoniously shipped off by Luis Enrique.
Thomas Vermaelen
Vermaelen was signed to provide “immediate impact” to Barcelona’s defense, but he ended up not even playing in his first season due to injury. For a spell in his second season he looked all right, but then injury or poor form prevented him from staking a permanent role and he was shipped out quickly after.
