Last week it was announced that El Clásico is coming to the United States. Barcelona and Real Madrid will take their intense rivalry to Miami for an International Champions Cup pre-season friendly match in July at the Hard Rock Stadium. As part of their announcement for the historic event, the ICC released the above video showcasing all that is El Clásico.
While soccer fans across the globe know all about the history of the rivalry, American sports have many different rivalries that claim to be the best in the world. Whether is the Red Sox/Yankees, Duke/North Carolina, or the old school Celtics/Lakers feud, there are many who claim to have the crown.
This video does a great job showing the depth of the Barca/Madrid rivalry. El Clásico allegiances are rarely chosen, but something you are born into, the video tries to portray. It’s a natural progression from birth to adulthood, something in your blood. I enjoyed the video as it told a great story, while not shoving anything down your throat.
