The next Barcelona match is upon us! After being awarded with plenty of individual silverware at the FIFA Gala on Monday, the Blaugrana are back on the field for an important match against Espanyol. After winning the first leg of the Round of 16 with a comfortable 4-1 result, the Blaugranes visit the Cornellá able to even lose the game by a two-goal margin and still qualify for the quarter-finals.
Which means that coach Luis Enrique could use this as an opportunity to rotate the squad. His squad list features the usual minute-heavy players, but we could see some of them on the bench. Luis Suárez is officially out due to a two-game suspension after last week's craziness, so that opens up a spot on the wings for either Arda Turan or Munir El-Haddadi to start. Jordi Alba also gets a day off, but his absence is due to coach's decision.
These are the eighteen men called up by Lucho to be in uniform on Wednesday night:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 25. Jordi Masip
Defenders: 3. Gerard Piqué, 6. Dani Alves, 14. Javier Mascherano, 15. Marc Bartra, 21. Adriano Correia, 22. Aleix Vidal, 23. Thomas Vermaelen, 24. Jérémy Mathieu
Midfielders: 4. Ivan Rakitic, 5. Sergio Busquets, 7. Arda Turan, 8. Andrés Iniesta, 20. Sergi Roberto
Forwards: 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Neymar Jr., 17. Munir El-Haddadi
Projected Starting Lineup (4-3-3):
Stegen; Alves, Bartra, Mascherano, Mathieu; Busquets, Roberto, Iniesta; Arda, Messi, Neymar
The match starts at 21:00 CET, and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
