The Dutchman stays...for now
If you were on the edge of your seat wondering about Ronald Koeman’s job status after another European debacle, you can sit back and relax. According to a report from Sport, Ronald Koeman won’t be sacked before the Atletico Madrid match on Saturday.
The Dutchman has done little to earn the support and trust of those in the club and despite getting a vote of confidence from Barca brass over the offseason, he’s in hot water already. Barcelona reportedly won’t be swayed by public opinion and want to show “respect” to Koeman by giving him time.
The upcoming international break may spell the end for Koeman, but for now, Barca and Koeman are going to stick at it despite another disastrous Champions League performance.
Wednesday’s defeat to Benfica has brought more speculation about Koeman with Andrea Pirlo reportedly joining Roberto Martinez, Xavi, and Marcelo Gallado as possible replacements for the Dutchman at the Camp Nou.
