How will Barcelona line up against Cadiz?

The Catalans are in need of a response

Barcelona are back in action on Thursday at Cadiz and in need of a good result and an improved performance after a real shocker against Granada on Monday,

Ronald Koeman is still without a host of players due to injury and will also have to make do without Alejandro Balde who misses out with a back problem.

Let’s look at how Barca might start on Thursday night.

Defense

Injuries to Jordi Alba and Balde mean that Ronald Koeman has no fit left-backs for this game and looks set to employ Sergino Dest on the left again.

Oscar Mingueza or Sergi Roberto will take over from the American at right-back with Koeman needing to decide who plays with Ronald Araujo at center-back.

Eric Garcia started alongside the Uruguayuan against Granada but Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet are both options to come into the backline.

Midfield

There’s still no Pedri in midfield and it will be interesting to see what Koeman does with his midfield. The Dutchman started Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, and Sergio Busquets against Granada but must be tempted to make changes.

Gavi is a real contender to start after some bright cameos off the bench. The 17-year-old also popped up with his first La Liga assist to help rescue a point for Barcelona on Monday night.

Attack

Barca’s attacking injuries are well-known and look set to continue for his game, although there is some hope that Ansu Fati could get some minutes on Sunday against Levante.

Memphis Depay seems to be the only certainty in attack with Koeman needing to decide who plays up front with the Dutchman.

Yusuf Demir wasn’t too involved against Granada, Philippe Coutinho also offered little, while Luuk de Jong only came on at half-time but missed a great chance to open his account for the club.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Mingueza, Araujo, Pique, Dest; Busquets, De Jong, Gavi; Demir, Luuk de Jong, Memphis.
