Three more points!

Barcelona B have won their second straight game in the Third Division thanks to a 2-1 win over Linense at the Johan Cruyff Stadium on Friday night. The youngsters had to come from behind after an early goal by the visitors, but showed great poise and scored two excellent goals to grab all three points and continue to improve under new head coach Sergi Barjuan.

FIRST HALF

The game started with a crazy blitz from Linense, who pressed really high up the pitch and forced mistakes from the Barça defense. The biggest of them came in the second minute with an awful error by goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, who took too long to make a pass inside the six-yard box and gave away a silly goal when his touch was intercepted by Coulibaly who scored against an open net.

Linense hit the crossbar twice in the first five minutes after scoring, and they looked ready to shock Barça B at home. But the Blaugrana answered quickly with an excellent finish by Ángel Rodado after a great cross from Guillem Jaime, and Barça started to dominate.

The Catalans had the ball and moved it with pace from side to side, with Guillem on the right a constant threat at the full-back position and Jandro Orellana bossing midfield playing all kinds of passes. And it was a 60-yard bomb from Jandro that found Ferran Jutglà all alone inside the box, and the winger brought it down with a great first touch and fired it home to give Barça the lead.

Barça continued to dominate in the final minutes of the half and almost made it three with a beautiful shot by Lucas De Vega that hit the bar. At halftime, a brilliant game had Barça ahead but Linense were still in it and the second half promised more entertainment.

SECOND HALF

The second half was a bit of a tough watch, which was a surprise after all the fun in the first. Linense seemed to run out of gas after pressing with such intensity and couldn’t offer any threat on the ball, while Barça seemed to content to keep the ball and avoid any trouble.

Jandro continued to dominate midfield and keep things running smoothly, and Jutglà was also a threat on the wings, and it was a play of his on the left that led to the only chance of the half when he set up substitute Akhomach with a great chance just outside the six-yard box but his shot was blocked on the line by a Linense defender.

Linense launched one last attack in added time to try and get an equalizer, but Barça B held on to the one-goal lead and the final whistle came to give them three more points. Despite the quiet second half, this was a solid overall performance from Barça B, and a second straight win is important to build their confidence. Well done, boys:!
