The defender is now out to impress Ernesto Valverde
Not content with making a fairly amazing comeback from injury, Aleix Vidal is now working on how to impress new coach Ernesto Valverde after insisting he has no intention of leaving Barcelona.
Vidal is one of several players who have been linked with a Camp Nou exit this summer but the full-back has ruled out leaving the club and wants to become a regular.
"I know that Ernesto will be a coach, I'm starting to think how to convince him, I do not know Valverde personally, but he conveys a good feeling, he's calm, respectful," he told Cadena SER.
"I hope he's doing very well. That we win many titles with him. I've never had the idea of leaving, I'm a very proud person, I have not talked to Valverde, but I'm one hundred percent."
Vidal made his comeback as a substitute in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday and revealed that he thanked Luis Enrique after the game for allowing him to come on.
"I thanked him for giving me those minutes after the injury," he added.
"I'm not a spiteful person. I had a difficult time with him, but I wish him the best. I feel that I have taken his reason from playing on the field with goals and there have never been words between us.
"We never had discussions, only meetings in which he told me to work to get the opportunity."
It was great to see Vidal made his comeback against Alaves and here’s hoping he can now stay injury free and show us all his best form next season.
