Following another humiliating loss in Europe against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, Barcelona are back in action in La Liga as they welcome struggling Cádiz to the Greatest Stadium on Earth on Sunday’s early kickoff.

The PSG loss was awful and once again exposed all the problems with this team — including its coach — and winning the Champions League will require a giant rebuild of the entire club. But in the short term, everything isn’t exactly awful.

When we look at La Liga, Barça remain the league’s hottest team: 7 wins in a row and 12 straight without a loss have put the Blaugrana in the title race, and with Atlético Madrid beginning to stumble at the top there is some real hope for Barça to win the most unlikely league title in their recent history.

Direct matchups with both Atlético and Real Madrid are coming up shortly, and with no Europe to worry about anymore the Blaugrana can focus solely on the league, and beating Cádiz is important to not only keep the run going but also take advantage of Atlético’s loss and hope they lose one more game to truly make this a three-team title race.

Cádiz started the season in incredible fashion but have won just one of their last 11 games and are now in a relegation battle, and they’re coming off four really bad losses in a brutal part of their schedule. The squad lacks depth and the best players look tired, and the defense cannot stop conceding right now.

This is a huge opportunity for Barça to show they’re ready to fight for the title, and they must react well to the PSG loss. They’re massive favorites in this one, and they should win comfortably — but you never know.

Let’s dance.

POSSIBLE LINEUPS

Barcelona (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Dest, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba; Pjanic, De Jong, Pedri; Trincão, Messi, Dembélé

Cádiz (4-4-2): Ledesma; Iza, Alcalá, Mauro, Espino; Sánchez, Fali, Ander, Perea; Lozano, Negredo

PREDICTION

Barça usually react strongly to bad losses and Cádiz have been really bad lately and will probably not offer much resistance: 4-0 to the good guys.
