So starts the story from Argentine journalist Juan Pablo Varsky on the show No Somos Nadie on the radio station Metro 95.1.
It turned out that the security staff hadn’t been paid in 5 or 6 months, and they were appealing to the captain of the team for help.
Messi called over his dad, Jorge, and after talking it over, the two decided to pay the owed salary with their own money.
Varsky said Leo would not have liked the story to have leaked to the media, but the journalist thought people ought to know the story.
