FC Barcelona News: 16 August 2016; Enrique Not Prepared To Hold Back, Tello Signs For Fiorentina

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique made it clear in Tuesday’s press conference that he aims to start on the front foot in the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla. The Catalans hold a 2-0 lead from Sunday’s first leg at the Sanchez Pizjuan but the manager is not prepared to rest on his laurels and insists that his side will attack from the off.
As he begins his seventh year at the club, Javier Mascherano spoke to the press on Tuesday about various topics surrounding himself and the team, with the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup taking centre stage. Mascherano could not his delight at the "great defensive display of the whole team" at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday where Barça won 2-0 thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Munir.
FC Barcelona and Fiorentina have arrived at an agreement for the loan of Cristian Tello for the 2016/17 season. The Italian club contractually agrees that the participation of the player remains active during the loan. The agreement includes an option for Fiorentina to buy the player at the end of the 2016/17, which FC Barcelona can block.
FC Barcelona continued preparations for the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup with a training session on Tuesday morning at the Tito Vilanova field at Ciutat Esportiva. Luis Enrique’s side have a 2-0 lead from Sunday’s first leg at the Sánchez Pizjuán and are now looking to finish the job in front of their own supporters at the Camp Nou on Sunday.
Manchester City are close to reaching a deal to bring Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo to the Etihad Stadium, as Pep Guardiola pushes through with his plans to have a goalkeeper who is more adept with his feet than Joe Hart. The 33-year-old is expected to fly in to Manchester later this week once a deal is reached between the two clubs. He would then likely be sharing the role with Caballero this season, while Hart would be free to leave.
Brazil Olympic football coach Rogerio Micale said that his team's captain and superstar Neymar has learned from past mistakes, as the tournament favourites head for Wednesday's semifinals against outsiders Honduras. Brazil went into this summer's Olympic football tournament widely expected to win, with Barcelona star Neymar just one of a number of top talents called up and most other countries not taking the competition as seriously.
Lionel Messi remains ahead of Neymar as the best player at Barcelona, according to former Brazil star Rivaldo. "As a Brazilian, I've really enjoyed the progress Neymar has made for the last two years," he told L'Equipe. "But for all that he has achieved over the past decade, the excellent season that he was still able to have, but also his immense talent, Lionel Messi is still, for me, the star and the best player at Barca."
