It's done, now we wait for the announcement
After losing Claudio Bravo to Manchester City, Barcelona have acted quickly to find a new goalkeeper.
Multiple reports in Spain suggest that the Catalan giants have completed the transfer of Valencia keeper Diego Alves, who will join Barça on a four-year contract. The club will pay Valencia a €8 million fee, and all parties involved in the deal have reached an agreement.
Claudio Bravo will travel to Manchester on Thursday to complete his City move, and he's likely to play his Barcelona farewell match on Wednesday night at Camp Nou, in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla. A few reports even claim that the club plans a quick farewell ceremony for the Chilean after the match.
After the conclusion of the Super Cup, most likely on Thursday, Barça will announce both Bravo's sale and the signing of Diego Alves. The Brazilian would be available for the La Liga opener against Real Betis on Saturday, and could make his Barça debut just two days after being signed.
If/when he's signed, Alves will start until new number one keeper Marc-André ter Stegen returns from a three-week absence due to a knee injury.
