New manager, same trust in Barcelona players
The Spanish national team might have a new manager, but Barcelona players are still very important.
Julen Lopetegui, who replaces Vicente Del Bosque, made his first national team selection on Friday, calling up 24 players for the next two international matches, starting with a friendly against Belgium on September 1st, followed by the opening game of the 2018 World Cup Qualifier against Liechtesntein (Sept. 6).
Lopetegui's first squad still brings most of the players who were in EURO 2016 for La Roja, but begins a quiet, yet visible renovation of the national side:

Four Barça players are in: Gerard Piqué, Sergi Roberto, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. Andrés Iniesta is not on the list as he's still recovering from injury, but Lopetegui will certainly call the Blaugrana captain to action in the next international break. Former Barça defender Marc Bartra is also on the list.
Iker Casillas has not been named in the squad, which is certainly the biggest surprise (not really, because Casillas has been garbage in Portugal). Diego Costa is back after being left out by Del Bosque in the last several lists. Lucas Vázquez, Marco Asensio and Paco Alcácer are in the list, which shows Lopetegui will be looking to slowly bring in younger players to La Roja's senior side.
