Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the top of the Primera Division scoring charts by grabbing four goals in the second half as Real Madrid thrashed Celta Vigo 7-1 at the Bernabeu. Gareth Bale marked his return from a hamstring injury by scoring in his first appearance in 50 days, while Pepe and Jese also got on the scoresheet for the Merengues -- Iago Aspas got Celta's only goal in their worst defeat of the season.

Las Palmas took another step towards Primera Division survival by unexpectedly beating Champions League hopefuls Villarreal 1-0 to record a third consecutive victory. Captain David Garcia gave the visitors a deserved lead on the half-hour mark, becoming the first player to score against Villarreal goalkeeper Alphonse Areola in the league for 620 minutes.

Deportivo La Coruña 3-3 Málaga - ESPN FC
A late own goal from Deportivo defender Alejandro Arribas saw Malaga earn a 3-3 draw and deny Victor Sanchez's men a first victory in 12 Primera Division matches. After a positive opening from the visitors, it was Malaga, themselves heading into Saturday's late evening kick-off on a four-match winless run, who took the lead on 29 minutes when Charles Dias de Oliveira headed in at the far post from a corner.

Villar avoids TAD suspension | Football Espana
Spain’s Administrative Tribunal for Sport (TAD) has launched its investigation into Angel Maria Villar, but the RFEF President is spared suspension. According to Marca, TAD began "a process of confidential information" relating to Villar and basketball chief Jose Luis Saez on Friday but decided against suspending the pair as only witness proceedings had been opened.

Steve Nash says he has 'long term' plans for Mallorca - ESPN FC
Former NBA star Steve Nash says his aim as co-owner of Segunda Division club Mallorca is to return the Balearic Islanders to the top division. Former Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and LA Lakers player Nash is part of a consortium including Suns co-owners Robert Sarver and Andy Kohlberg, who bought a controlling share in the club last January for a reported €20 million.
