Another Barcelona full-back is in injury trouble ahead of this Saturday's El Clásico against Real Madrid.
One day after Jordi Alba reported back from international duty with an ankle injury that could get him to miss this weekend's derby, Barça confirmed that reserve full-back Adriano Correia, who could be Alba's replacement, is certain to be out of the match at Camp Nou with a hamstring problem.
The Brazilian is expected to be out for at least ten days, which means he won't be available for both the Clásico and the Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Atlético Madrid next week. Adriano has continued to fall down the pecking order under coach Luis Enrique, and his track record of vital role player in the Pep Guardiola days did not translate into a key participation in the Asturian's squad.
Adriano had his contract extended last week until the end of the 2016-17 season, ending the rumors of a possible departure from the Catalan club this summer. Although he isn't as important anymore, he would be necessary in this exact moment when the starting full-back is injured, but even now he can't help.
Yay.
