Marc-André ter Stegen hints at Barcelona exit

One of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe could be on his way out of Barcelona.

Star keeper Marc-André ter Stegen is in his second season at the Catalan club, and for the second straight campaign he has been selected only for Cup matches, with Claudio Bravo preferred for all league games. The German always performs at an absurd level even without a consistent run, and the 23-year-old feels it's time to give him Number One status.

If he can't get that as a Blaugrana, he could always go somewhere else.

"I want to take the next step and play more because the situation is clear: if nothing changes, I’ll need to speak [to the club].

"At the end of the season, I’ll have played about 25 games. This isn’t too little, but when I return from the selection, I’ll probably be benched against Real Madrid in the Clasico. In the long run, these 25 games are not enough for me."

That is certainly a problem. Barça cannot possibly risk to lose a keeper with the current talent and the amazing potential Ter Stegen has. This is the keeper for the present and the future. The only issue here is: Bravo has been sensational for two league seasons now, and it seems unfair to reward his great performances with the bench next season.

Luis Enrique has a difficult decision to make at the end of this term, that's for sure. Does he concentrate on the present, and how good Bravo still is, or does it give Ter Stegen a much deserved number one role and looks to the future?

That's a hard answer, and it might lead to Ter Stegen leaving if he doesn't like the answer.
