Atletico Madrid stumbled in their pursuit of Barcelona for the Liga title after conceding two late goals to lose at relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon 2-1 on Saturday. Atletico looked set to maintain their challenge after Antoine Griezmann scored from a free kick in the first half.

Willian Jose struck six minutes before half-time as the Islanders secured a fourth win in five games that has moved them five points clear of the drop, and just two points behind their opponents.

A bullet of a header from Nacho Camacho gave Malaga a 1-0 win at Real Betis. It looked like the game would finish goalless but Camacho popped up with his second goal in three matches to give Malaga back-to-back victories in La Liga.

Deportivo La Coruna end losing run with win over Levante - ESPN FC
It looked like it may end in a draw after Giuseppe Rossi cancelled out Luis Alberto's opener for the hosts but an own goal by the unfortunate Diego Marino, who had made a couple of decent saves during the game, saw Deportivo taste success for the first time in 14 matches.
