Marc Bartra has waited too long for a chance at Barcelona, and it is time to leave.
According to a report from El Confidencial, the defender is set for a move away from Catalonia after years of staying on the bench and playing very few minutes in the Blaugrana kit. Unlike players like Sergi Roberto, for instance, who took time but finally became a viable squad option, Bartra never won Luis Enrique's trust, and will leave the club this summer.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League after the Euros, and his main option appears to be Liverpool. Jürgen Klopp is looking for a partner to new signing Joel Matip, who will join from Schalke 04 on a free transfer, and has identified Bartra as his best possible target at the best possible price.
Always according to the report, Liverpool representatives will meet with the Spaniard and his agent just before the player joins the Spanish national team for the EURO in France in hopes to finalize a deal, since Barça already has an offer on the table and are leaning towards accepting the sale.
Unless something crazy happens and Bartra becomes the best center-back in the world and wins a starting place in the next few months, his place is no longer at Catalonia.
