Barcelona to play Leicester City, Liverpool in 2016 preseason

Barcelona are going to the British side of Europe for their preseason, and have some good matches to play.

According to Catalan newspaper Ara, the champions of Spain, who have decided not to make a big summer tour for their preseason, will make a short trip to England for their entire preparation for the new campaign. And they have scheduled three competitive games for that trip.

Under the umbrella of the now prestigious International Champions Cup preseason tournament, the Catalan giants will face Premier League sensation and potential shocking champions Leicester City, and England's most decorated club, Liverpool, with dates yet to be determined. The Blaugranes will also face Scotland champions Celtic, this match reportedly set to be played in Dublin, Ireland on July 30.

The decision to train and play in England for the entire preseason was made after a loud and clear request from players and coaching staff because of the tough schedule after this season is over. If the Blaugrana reach the Champions League Final, they will play 65 total games across all competitions, the most ever in club history. After that, nearly all squad members will join their national teams for the 2016 Euros, the Copa America Centenario and the Olympics.

With very few weeks to rest and recover from the hectic club campaign and the difficult international tournaments, the squad and coach Luis Enrique do not want to travel to the United States or Asia and trade vital moments of training and physical preparation for countless hours of plane rides and hotel check-ins.

Instead, football's finest will go to football's birthplace. That should be fun.
