Newcastle United are one of the Premier League clubs who are rarely linked with Barcelona players. Yet that’s already changed in the few days since their takeover by a Saudi consortium was completed
The most recent rumor is that Newcastle are keen on none other than Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet. The report comes to us via Sport and they detail how the Magpies are working on making a “small investment” this winter.
Newcastle don’t want to go crazy in the January transfer window, as they are planning bigger moves for next summer, but do have Lenglet on the radar ahead of the next transfer window.
Sport are reporting that Lenglet “fits the profile” the Premier League side are looking for and the club have already reached out to Barcelona to ask about the possibility of the defender moving on.
Lenglet’s said over the summer that he didn’t want to leave Barcelona but has dropped down the pecking order and has only made one La Liga start so far in 2021-22.
