Another defensive problem for the Catalans
Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba is reportedly a doubt for Sunday’s Clasico clash with Real Madrid after picking up an ankle problem.
The defender suffered a sprained ankle during Barca’s 1-0 Champions League win over Dynamo Kiev and is now “working against the clock” to be fit for Sunday, according to Diario Sport.
Alba admitted he was suffering a bit after the full-time whistle when he spoke to the media. He appeared with an ice pack on his ankle and admitted, “I have something, but I don’t know what.”
Diario AS also reckon Alba might not make Sunday’s match and describe his situation as “complicated. The report reckons the only way he could play is if he were to have pain-killing injections.
Alba’s injury will add to Ronald Koeman’s problems for the match. The Dutchman is also expected to be without Pedri, Ronald Araujo, and Ousmane Dembele for the game because of injury.
Sergio Aguero doesn’t look as though he’s quite ready to start either after missing the early weeks of the campaign because of a calf problem but Eric Garcia will return to the squad after serving a suspension against Dynamo Kiev.
