It’s a must-win for Ronald Koeman’s side in Europe

Barcelona take on Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on Wednesday and simply have to win after opening their European campaign with 3-0 defeats to Bayern Munich and Benfica.

Ronald Koeman’s side head into the match fresh from a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Valencia but may also have one eye on Sunday’s Clasico against Real Madrid.

Let’s look at how they might line-up:

Defense

Barca have issues in defense with Ronald Araujo out injured and Eric Garcia suspended after his red card against Benfica last time out.

The absences mean Clement Lenglet could get a rare start at center-back alongside Gerard Pique, although Oscar Mingueza and Samuel Umtiti are also available.

Jordi Alba will be expected to continue at left-back after returning from injury against Valencia but it remains to be seen who will play on the opposite flank.

Sergi Roberto could continue, Sergino Dest may drop back into defense after playing as a winger at the weekend, or Mingueza could get the nod.

Midfield

Koeman must also make do without Pedri in midfield once again with the Spain international still missing due to a thigh injury.

The Barca coach could well keep faith with his midfield three of Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets, and Gavi but does have options to freshen things up if needed.

Nico Gonzalez is pushing hard for a first-team start and could come into the starting XI, while Riqui Puig will be hoping for his first Champions League minutes of the season.

Attack

The big question in attack is whether Ansu Fati will start again. The teenager scored at the weekend but was taken off by the hour mark as Barca handle his comeback very carefully.

Sergio Aguero should see more more minutes after making his debut but is likely to have to start on the bench once again at the Camp Nou.

Memphis Depay looks set to continue after his goal and assist against Valencia, and Philippe Coutinho will be hoping for a s starting spot after opening his account for the season on Sunday.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Busquets, De Jong, Gavi; Dest, Memphis, Ansu.
