The club did not listen to his advice
No one is unaware of the difficult way Luis Suarez’s tenure with Barcelona ended. The Barca legend didn’t fit into Ronald Koeman’s plans and as a result, he ended up leading a rival to the league title the very year he was sold.
Now that Suarez has left the past in the past, kidding, he’s decided to talk about a player he recommended to Barcelona while he was at the club.
In a chat with Gerard Romero he discussed the striker that he suggested Barca should take a look at while he was still on the roster.
It might be surprising to few that Suarez suggested the club take a look at Uruguayan teammate Darwin Nunez, a player who has been linked with a Camp Nou move and who recently put two past the Catalan giants in the Champions League playing for Benfica.
“When he was at Almeria, I said it at Barca. They asked me and I said ‘look after this guy, he’s very interesting’, but they said no, he’s at Almeria, he’s very young. But instead of paying now 80, 90, or 100 million, they would have paid 15 or 20.”

If this is true, perhaps Barca should have taken some advice from the man.
