A good three points for the Catalans

Barcelona B picked up their third win of the season on Sunday after beating Gerard Pique’s Andorra 2-1 in a hard-fought win at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

The hosts opened the scoring on 28 minutes with a great goal by Antonio Aranda. The youngster picked up the ball on the edge of the box, took a touch and the blasted home.

Barca B then doubled their lead five minutes before half-time when Ferran Jutglà came up with a lovely chip over the goalkeeper to put the hosts in charge.

However, Andorra hit back on the stroke of half-time when Carlos Martínez halved the deficit to put the visitors right back into it.

Both teams did have chances in the second half with Barca B goalkeeper Inaki Pena producing a fine save to deny Marc Fernández an equalizer with a header.

The win puts Barca B into seventh place in the table after seven games. The team are now just one point away from the playoffs and only two points off second place.

Sergi Barjuan’s side are back in action next Sunday with a clash against Real Madrid Castilla.

Barça B: Pena, Jaime, Comas, Marmol, Sola (Ndiaye, 68); Jandro, Sanz, Lucas de Vega, Aranda (Nils Mortimer, 90), Rodado (Peque Polo, 80), Jutgla (Matheus, 68).
