A sad ending.
Manager Luis Enrique is fed up with French defender Jeremy Mathieu, to the point he may not play again, EVER, for Barcelona, says a report from Diario SPORT.
Enrique hated Mathieu’s first half display against Juventus and hauled him off as his team were on their way to a 3-0 loss in Turin. Apparently the coach tore into him in a rage over his performance.
Since then, Mathieu has been injured and not played. Or is that “injured”? In any case the 34-year-old has been told he won’t be in the team next season, according to the report.
Given he’s not in the squad to face Osasuna, the team at the absolute bottom of La Liga (again, officially due to injury)... it doesn’t seem likely Mathieu will feature barring either (1) this is a legit injury or (2) some other injuries or suspensions force Lucho’s hand.
