Barcelona appeal dismissed, Neymar set to miss El Clásico against Real Madrid

Not surprising, but official now

It is official: this Sunday's El Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid will not have one of its biggest stars.

Barça superstar Neymar, who was banned for three games for his actions in the game against Málaga, will indeed miss this weekend's match at the Santiago Bernabéu after the Spanish Federation's Appeals Committee announced they have rejected an appeal from Barcelona asking to bring the ban down to one game, which Neymar already served against Real Sociedad.

Having the suspension reduced would allow the Brazilian superstar to take part on Sunday's game, but the appeal was indeed rejected and the ban confirmed. Neymar will not face Madrid and will serve the final match of his ban against Osasuna on Wednesday.

Neymar was sent off for two yellow cards at Málaga and had two more games added to his suspension for applauding the fourth official. Apparently this is a standard ban, part of the rules, so we'll believe that this has nothing to do with El Clásico and move on.

We'll have to do it without Ney. Can we do it?
