Not again!
The first bit of bad news for Barça season has already come, and the official games haven't even started yet.
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has been ruled out of the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla with a sprained ligament in his left knee, the club announced on Thursday. Ter Stegen injured himself during the training session held this morning after the game against Sampdoria which will cause him to miss the game in Seville, and any involvement he may have in the second leg will depend on how he recovers.
While Claudio Bravo is a solid option between the sticks, the irony remains that just when Ter Stegen seems to be in pole position to start the season as the first choice goalkeeper, he injures himself in training and Bravo gets the number 1 spot again.
You can already feel a sense of deja vu with this one.
