The coach is expected to replace Joachim Low

Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick has confirmed he’s in talks with Germany to replace Joachim Low after this summer’s European Championship.

Flick will leave Bayern at the end of the season and there have been rumors recently that Barcelona president Joan Laporta is keen on the 56-year-old.

However, Flick told a news conference on Friday that he’s not far off agreeing a deal to become the new manager of the national team.

“I’ve talked to the DFB and everyone knows how I feel about the national team,” Flick said.

“But it is also the case that these things always have to be settled when it comes to the little details. When everything is ready, things can be announced quickly.”

Flick has won two Bundesliga titles, the German Cup and the Champions League during his time in charge of the Bavarian giants but now looks set for a new challenge.

As for Barcelona, it’s still not clear what will happen with Ronald Koeman and whether he will stay on or leave in the summer. Xavi appears one of the few candidates to take over but has just signed a contract extension with Al Sadd.
