The Brazilian has discussed his time at the club

Philippe Coutinho was part of the Barcelona press conference on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus and reflected on his time at the Camp Nou.

The Brazilian is back for a second spell after spending a successful season with Bayern Munich in 2019-20 and admitted he’s not managed to live up to expectations yet with the Catalan giants.

“I demand a lot from myself and I am the first to know my performances haven’t been as expected. What I can say is that I’ve have worked hard mentally, though, and think I am stronger in that aspect now.

“I try to do my best wherever the coach plays me, everyone has their preferences. In the center allows me to play better but it’s the coach who decides those things. I get ready to do as well as I can in any position.”

Coutinho also spoke about his team’s desire to get back to winning ways after a demoralizing loss to Cadiz last time out in La Liga.

“After a defeat there is always frustration, but I think everyone is keen to make changes. It will be a great match tomorrow. We’ve got the objective of qualifying first and of course when you come off the back of a loss, even if it’s in another competition, you want to show what you can do and win a game like this.”

The Brazilian was subbed off at half-time of the defeat to Cadiz after a pretty unimpressive performance on the left of the attack. It’s not clear if he will start again versus Juventus or if Koeman will turn to youngsters such as Pedri or Francisco Trincao instead.
