A third home match in a row for Ronald Koeman’s men

Barcelona face Valencia on Saturday at the Camp Nou after getting back on track a little with wins over Levante and Real Sociedad.

It’s a third home game in a row for Ronald Koeman’s men and another three points would be very welcome indeed before they head to Real Valladolid next week.

Valencia aren’t in the best of form right now and have only won three times so far in 2020-21 in La Liga but one of those wins did come up against Real Madrid.

Let’s look at how they might line up:

Defence

Koeman dropped Clement Lenglet for the visit of Real Sociedad, and the big question on Saturday is whether the Frenchman returns to the team or stays on the bench.

Youngsters Ronald Araujo and Oscar Mingueza put in a solid shift in central defence and will be hoping to continue against Valencia.

Elsewhere, there are unlikely to be many other changes with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Sergino Dest and Jordi Alba expected to continue.

Midfield

Koeman has tweaked Barca’s midfield in recent games which has helped Frenkie de Jong find some form and grab an assist and a goal in his last two games.

The Dutchman seems certain to start again, while Pedri also looks guaranteed a place after an impressive performance against Real Sociedad.

Miralem Pjanic got a late run out last time out but is still finding it tough to break into the team, although he will be hoping to get the nod over Sergio Busquets.

Attack

Ousmane Dembele is closing in on a return but seems unlikely to be fit for this one which means Koeman may not make any changes to his attack.

Martin Braithwaite and Antoine Griezmann were both guilty of missing good chances against Real Socieded but should continue along with Lionel Messi.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Dest, Araujo, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Busquets; Messi, Griezmann, Pedri; Braithwaite.
