A tough break for the youngster
Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that Moussa Wague has been ruled out for nine months after undergoing knee surgery.
The defender has been on loan at PAOK but injured his knee in a really nasty collision with the goalpost last weekend which saw him stretchered off.
Wague has had surgery to try and repair his knee and is now set for a lengthy absence:
“FC Barcelona player Moussa Wagué, on loan this season to PAOK Salonika, has successfully undergone an operation this Saturday morning to repair and reconstruct patellar ligament in his right knee.
The operation was performed by Dr Ramon Cugat under supervision of the FC Barcelona medical team. The Senegalese footballer has also ruptured posterior cruciate ligaments and has undergone conservative treatment. He will be out of action for an estimated nine months, and will remain in Barcelona for the recovery period.”

Reports in Greece have even suggested Wague’s injury is so severe he may struggle to play at the top level again. Let’s hope that’s not the case and he can go on and make a full recovery.
Get well soon Moussa Wague!
