The Dutchman came close to a move in the summer
The January transfer open will be open in less than a week but it’s likely to be a quiet one at Barcelona due to the club’s dire financial position and lack of a permanent president.
Rumors of moves for Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay continue to fly about, but Lyon sporting director Juninho has suggested the Dutchman will be going nowhere this winter.
“There will be changes, but more for players who are going to leave like is the case of Jean Lucas, that was already planned.
“Rudi [Garcia] has asked for him to leave to play a bit more. The key players, they are not going to be moved. I hope above all that we maintain this level, that is the most important thing.”

Lyon are currently top of the table in Ligue 1 after 17 games played. Depay has eight goals and four assists in the French league so far this season but is out of contract at the end of the campaign.
January therefore represents the club’s last chance to get a fee for Depay, unless he does decide to renew his contract.
Barca came close to a deal in the summer but couldn’t get it done. According to Sport, the club are now having doubts about the Dutchman because they have lots of options in attack and feel signing a center-back is a higher priority.
